In terms of the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), personal information must be processed for a specified purpose. The purpose for which data is processed by Pepkor will depend on the nature of the data and the particular data subject. This purpose is ordinarily disclosed, explicitly or implicitly, at the time the data is collected.
