We are seeking a skilled Courier Operations Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day courier operations in our Cato Ridge warehouse, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of products to customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of couriers, ensuring efficient delivery services, and maintaining overall operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of couriers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of shipments.
- Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to optimize operational efficiency in the courier division.
- Monitor and analyze courier performance metrics, such as on-time delivery percentage, route optimization, and customer satisfaction, and take corrective actions as needed.
- Oversee and regularly assess the inventory management processes to maintain appropriate stock levels and minimize stock outs.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as customer service and fleet management, to ensure seamless coordination and outstanding customer experiences.
- Supervise daily planning, organizing and operations of the DC.
- Monitors/tracking of the vehicle's.
- Ensure orders are processed, received, picked and shipped within the agreed SLA.
- Responsible for the briefing and debriefing of drivers.
- Ensure GRV's (Goods Received) are processed by the stores.
- Responsible for the loading and sorting of stock according to the trip sheets built.
- Manage the stock returns process.
- Manage stock tracker units.
- Ensure the BOMB squad report is cleared on a daily basis.
- Ensure that the IN Transit parcels are cleared.
- Attend to driver incidents on the road (hijacking / vehicle breakdown).
- Receive Skynet trucks and verify stock delivery.
- Skynet waybill manual's.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
- Continuously evaluate operational processes and identify areas for improvement, implementing innovative strategies to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Monitor and manage courier expenses within the assigned budget.
- Remain updated with industry trends, technologies, and regulations to propose innovative and competitive solutions.
- Contact customers and resolve all queries within agreed SLA.
- Assist in the recruitment, training, and development of courier personnel.
Job Competencies:
- In-depth knowledge of courier operations, including planning, routing, tracking, and customer service.
- Excellent leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Proficient in using logistics software, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Qualification and Experience:
- Grade 12, Relevant Tertiary Qualification in Logistics,
- 4+ Years of hands-on experience in logistics or operations management within the courier industry.
