Pepkor Lifestyle is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join our
Corporate Finance Team. This position will report to the Corporate Financial Manager, but will also
provide finance support to other Heads of Departments as required.

Job Description
To take full control and responsibility for the accounting and reporting relating to Corporate Fixed
Assets, Capital Investment Projects, Group Insurance (claims & declarations), Corporate
Departmental Cost Budgets and Allocation Models.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Finance Support to Corporate Department Manager – business justifications, budget queries, capital expenditure budgets and monitoring.
- Maintain and report on Corporate Fixed Assets – actual capex vs budgets, serial number asset tracking, deprecation rates & assets under construction.
- Monitor & review Insurance Claims Registers for completeness and assist with timeous resolution of insurance claims. Prepare annual insurance declarations for all countries.
- Perform and review Balance Sheet reconciliations pertaining to Insurance, Fixed Assets and other specified accounts.
- Analyse departmental Income Statements and provide reasons for variances.
- Manage Open Purchase orders to completing and accrue for any valid orders at month-end.
- Manage the accounting process relating to prepaid expenses.
- Populate and reconcile the various budgeting and forecasting templates.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting and reporting. Prepare and update detailed schedules for each vendor per profit centre that will form the basis of the Corporate Budget.
- Identify and obtain relevant cost drivers to enable accurate allocation of Corporate and Retail Head Office Costs to Business Units.
- Support the Financial Manager during Internal & External Audits.
- Prepare the annual insurance declarations and coordinate reported and outstanding claims between the Business Units and Insurance Brokers.
- Assist with bookkeeping of Company Charity Initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Grade 12
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Auditing
- 5 - 7 years of relevant accounting experience preferred
- SAICA/SAIPA Articles preferred, alternatively internship in Financial Departments at established companies
- Previous retail or supply chain experience preferred
